I heard about Moving On from a relative who is also setting up home. It sounded interesting so I thought I would give it a try and sign up for their weekly e-mail. It’s a pretty nifty system-they e-mail you on a Thursday to tell you which houses are selling their content that weekend. You can check out the pics and if you like anything, go along to the sale. It’s not an auction, so you just have to get there at the time it starts and pick what you like! There are some yucky things, but some real bargains too :-) How it works is that each person gets a lucky number (so there’s no incentive to get there super early!). One by one you go into the house and ‘buy’ whatever items you like. They usually are relatively well priced items and if you have a good eye, you can pick up some great finds.
We had a great experience at one of the Moving on Sales: exciting atmosphere, surprising stuff for sale. Went home with an outdoor diner set, 2 great chairs and the wired paper rhino I always wanted. Will definitely be back on another Sunday afternoon!

I came through to Pinelands on Sunday and later the afternoon to Marina da Gama; I managed to get the most beautiful finest glasses and other glassware at Marina da G and it was nice to chat with the owners who are emigrating. I always meet great friends at your sales.

We recently contracted Moving On to help us sell the contents of our house in Durbanville. From my first interaction with Moving On, franchisee Kimberley was efficient, quick to respond and very professional.
I really appreciated her prompt response to my initial enquiry – within a week we’d met, taken photos of the items, arranged a sale date and agreed on the sale prices.
Her knowledge and expertise in terms of advising the pricing and current sales trends and the way in which she was always available to explain or handle any queries was also great.
The sale was well organised and well handled by Kimberley. We managed to sell most of the items, without the usual hassle of placing ads, negotiating prices, meeting with potential buyers etc.
The Moving On after sales service has also been excellent in that Kimberley has assisted in trying to sell the last few remaining items.
I would highly recommend Moving On to anyone wanting to sell their house contents – whether you are moving or simply needing to sell off some of your furniture.

"My parents had lived on a farm in Somerset West for nearly 30 years and wanted to retire and move to the coast. But they were stuck. Richard organized an amazing sale – there were lots of people informed and loads of people came. It was professional and I couldn't believe how quickly everything sold. His website is remarkable – people arrived clutching a print of his weekly mail, determined to buy a specific item and they had traveled far to be there. We sold everything! Even the things that we all thought nobody could possibly want or need! But people came wanting parts of things or a bargain on this or a beautiful yellow wood king size bed!
